I was born in 1950. In 1956 - 1960, I went to elementary school, and in 1960 - 1968 I was student at the classical Ludwig – Georgs - Gymnasium in Darmstadt, Germany. In the following years 1968 - 1974, I studied medicine at the University of Frankfurt on Main, Germany. In 1975 - 1992, I was resident and, from 1992 - 2000, specialist in neurology at the Academic Teaching Hospital in Darmstadt, Germany. At first, until December 1979, I worked in patient care. Since 1980 I was responsible, in the same hospital, as leading physician in a long - term research project on the epidemiology of multiple sclerosis (MS). During that time, I had visited and interrogated more than 1,000 MS patients, and I published many scientific papers on MS. I was also engaged in teaching activities for medical students.
In 2000, He was retired as physician, but I continued my scientific publications on the epidemiology of MS until the present day. In the last 10 years, dietary factors, as one possible reason for this multivariate disease, came into the focus of my research.
